It seems the Whatman line of (cheap) chromatography media is now owned by GE Healthcare. In addition, it is not available for ~ 1 year due to a supply issue.
We routinely use this for our undergrad lab course and are now looking for a comparable (cheap) replacement product.
Any suggestions?

DEAE-Sephaose and DEAE-Sephadex have similar (ion exchange) properties. Both are available from Sigma. The Sephadex version may be better suited for an undergraduate lab because it is mechanically sturdier.

Any DEAE-cellulose, DEAE-Sepharose, DEAE-Sephadex or Q-Sepharose will give comparable results as DE52 from Whatman.
Cellufine A500, made from cellulose bead. It JNC (Japanese company) has been manufacturing. You can buy from the website of JNC America.

Has anyone already tried to used one of the above suggestions? From your experience I would like to know, please, which one is the best option you found to use for the replacement of DE52?
I identified 3 products from Sigma:
1.DCL6B100 : DEAE–Sepharose®,CL-6B
2.DFF100 -DEAE–Sepharose®,Fast Flow
3. A50120 -DEAE–Sephadex
Which one do you suggest is the best one to replace DE52, please? Or from other companies...

I have a high-stakes prep for which I would prefer to use the original DE52 from Whatman. Turns out, one can find the original Whatman DE52 on ebay (individually packed, sealed 30g sachets sold as "new, other"). I have used these before, and have had excellent results.
I have a lot of DE52 and DE32 cellulose and ion-exchange sephadexes from the old sock in my laboratory cabinet.
I can provide them to those who need it.
