Strengthening the development of Student Talking Time (STT) in the EFL secondary classroom: student-centered activities and differentiated instructions
I believe that the TBL approach can provide students with plenty of opportunities to widen their potential for real-world communication through using language in discourse fields of the world outside the classroom.
Find ways to give your students speaking experiences that feel natural and are like the "real world." They will respond better and maybe be more motivated than classroom speaking activities that seem more artificial.
Or...try gamified activities that require actual speech interaction.
