Have you looked at the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test ? It should cover the age range and should give standardised scores and AEs. We looked at using the Peabody Developmental Motor Scales with primary children with dev disab before and you could maybe get age equivalents but only up to 5y. Will be interested to see what others suggest!

Thank you for the suggestion of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test (2nd edition). It does indeed provide AEs, but it only covers ages 4;0 and up. Would it link with the BSID-III, or leave a 'gap' in your experience?

I think you would probably have a gap. You may struggle to find something that spans 3y into adolescence as the infant and child tests usually separate at ~2-3y (even within scales e.g. Griffiths), so you may need to use 2 different tests. I would say the Peabody is a better fit with the BSID-III but then you only have norms to 5y. Its tricky and depends on the aim of the study ultimately. I cant think of anything else sorry that would give you a single measure. It might be worth looking at the Pearson website under clinical and physiotherapy resources?

Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales may be useful although this is a parent/caregiver/ report scale rather than a clinician assessment. Age equivalents are available and suitable for your age group.

I mostly us Movement ABC -2,

after four years of age Bruininks-Oseretsky Test could be used but take long time to perform for the younger children. The short form is found in one study to not be as good as the long form (there might be other studies now saying something else)

The second edition of the MABC is developed to test children in the age range of 3-16 years.The test is using norms per 6 months for the youngest age range (3-6 years). This may cover your sample.

Depending on which motor skills you wish to assess, an alternative might be the motor test in the Beery-Bucktensia Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration (VMI). However, this test is not mainly a motor test, but also assesses visual discrimination and visuo-motor integration. It has age-equivalents and standardized scores based on normative samples.

Another optional solution might be rescaling the results of different tests (done at different age ranges) into one scale, so that you can compare between them and look at the results longitudinally. I have done that with the Bayley and the Bruininks in my paper: Shafir et al., (2006) Effects of iron deficiency in infancy on patterns of motor development over time. Only the MSEL had any evidence supporting it's use in the ASD population so I would advise seeking out evidence of the tools measurement properties in your population of interest before deciding on your measure.
