Because of Covid-19, several changes have been introduced vis-à-vis learning approaches. One major change is the use of online learning. What aspects of the changes caused by Covid-19 do you think will continue after the pandemic?
I have found that providing pre-recorded lectures then recording online support classes which focus on how students need to engage with the learning resources and answering individual chat questions is much more effective than just providing lectures. I certainly inten to adopt the most effective elements of this approach post lockdown. It is not the first time that I have discovered a more effective approach due to the pressure of circumstances.
I would agree with Peter Samuels, I think some of the approaches we had the opportunity to use during this challenging period might stay and be a more permanent part of our practice as they have been proved effective. One positive pedagogical lesson I took from this pandemic is that we should always be open to learn and improve our perspective on things you might think we already know.
It's too early to predict the 'learning style' after Covid-19 in the current situation. Additionally, I think that the decision about the education system after the pandemic will depend on the opinion of the faculty of school/college/ university. Thank you.
Given the investment in infrastructure and changing perceptions of blended learning I think it is unlikely that Universities will return to traditional methods. From a institutional perspective this raises interesting questions about the wisdom of investing in student residences and the offer they make to students moving forward,
I think as we live through the new normal into which covid-19 has introduced us, we need to be smart enough to pick up what has proved effective, how can we offer it and make it be our companion of journey. Exploring the potential of media to the best, balancing between online and face to face teaching etc. need to be kept in mind.
I feel that the fact that schools have had no choice but to experiment with new methods means that the methods teacher's feel are conducive to the learning of their subject/learners will be adopted more into their pedagogy. I myself am thinking how I will approach learning once I am able to teach in the classroom. I have a few ideas that have arisen from the situation but I would have to see what the curricula requires before I look into that in more depth
I think most of the educational institutions will move to blended learning after CoV-19. The present situation tough the teachers how to conduct e learning whether they were ready or not. It will be a great opportunity to introduce blended learning.
Class management has become critical; due to Covid 19 pandemic crisis; our teaching methodology shall continue after Covid 19 pandemic crisis; schools, colleges and Universities must adequately prepare suitable teaching aids and tools for both traditional education and non- traditional education. Meaning, we need Sustainable and Quality Assurance in E- Learning (Non- traditional Education). Thus, several schools may require restructuring- in order to improve psy-chomotor domain approach e.g. we need virtual workshops and Labs...that should meet international standards.
In my point of view, after these pandemic the use of online learning will still continue due to the fact that we already started these new set-up. We tried to explore and experience new ways of learning. All those strategies used in online learning will still be applied and continue even after the pandemic.
I think that blended learning will be adopted after COVID-19. Also, distance assessment of students will take place in some institutions and for some teaching subjects.
Thank you all the participants in this discussion. I think there is so much that we can learn from the Covid - induced changes in learning approaches that can be kept after the crisis is over.

I truly beliieve that more internet platforms will be implemented in the the teaching-learning process making the experience less personal, forgetting the importance of one-on-one interaction. Sadly, everything is directed by the law of cost-benefit, economy decides over educacional policies, and it becomes a real issues in under-development countries where there are no clear agendas in terms of education. Although, technology brings more problems than solutions when a country is not prepared to the IT challenges.
The COVID-19 actually changed our lives for ever. The online classes and exams were the necessity and need of the situation. It was easy for administrators and receivers to some extent. At the same time it carried a lot of hiccoughs as well. The scenario of education from lowest to highest has changed. It has a great impact. It revolutionized the technology. But missing human touch has its own limits and shortcomings
Online learning may indefinitely continue to take place as the main form of learning perhaps until the global COVID-19 situation stabilises. However, schools or universities may choose to adopt a blended approach (digital and face to face) for future teaching opportunities.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world and our ways of life in many ways. Some of these changes that will outlast the pandemic include hybridization of teaching and learning, especially in high school and college levels. As educators, we have proved that the hybrid model works, and it is a plus for the online institutions. Online education is being destigmatized, thanks to the pandemic.
Also, as educators, we are becoming more tech savvy with online instructional platforms and with the designing and the delivering of instructions.
Similarly, students are becoming more comfortable combining schooling and working, a trend that will likely continue in a larger scale post pandemic.
The big question will be, why go backward after the pandemic?
I believe that virtual classes will be a substitute of face to face classes because that will be considered safe for the safety of children and teachers and staffs in schools.
I would want to agree with everyone because the covid 19 forced most of the instructions if not all to go online. However, it has posed a lot of challenges more so to the developing countries where the Internet infrastructure is poor. Network fluctuations has really posed a challenge whereby taking online classes and exams has proved very frustrating. In this case, these regions will be forced to use a blended system as they try to match the western standards.
no matter how smart online teaching becomes but missing human touch in face to face classes will have a negative impact on learning-teaching relationship
In my personal opinion, institutions will try more commonly the implementation of Distance Learning (in any approach, Blended Learning, Mobile Learning, etc.) in the future for at least some of their course, because we simply cannot forget this lesson. In general, teachers have explored more o less deeply a wider kind of educative resources, which, despite imperfect if is the case, should be improved with a continued use. In addition, we are discovered several learning aspects generated by an extended delivering in terms of learning dynamics, social behaviour, academical faults, etc. which sould prepare us to improve such schemes of education. Particularly, I think that Blended learning has come to remain among us. Teacher have used improved tools and applications to deliver their classes in the best way that technlogy have let us. Those tools and application could be continued under a bleanded basis.
