This is a sad phenomena hat infiltrated scientific publications. The best thing to do for those who prefer to publish in an open access journal is to choose the open access journal of a known publisher with a good reputation.
Only select the Thomas and Reuter , and Scopus list of journals for research publication , and well reputed publishing house for books.
Let me just note that while the original Beall's list web site (scholarly-oa.com) does not host the list anymore anyway, I have recently come across a web site

which claims to build on and expand the Beall's list (see https://predatoryjournals.com/about/ ).
