Some larger benthic foraminifera are observed in the thin section of limestone in Central Palawan, the Philippines. The limestone underlies a turbidite sequece yielding Late Miocene planktonic foraminifera and calcareous nannofossils. To estimate the age of the boundary between the limestone and the turbidites, I am curious to know the species/genus of these larger benthic foraminifera. Can anyone help me to identify these larger foraminifera and can the taxa be used to determine the depositional age of the limestone? Thanks very much.
Hi there, you may consider them as Lepidocyclina spp. (Oligocen to Miocene) sicne you cannot recognize their embryonic cell properly.
Hi, the one appeared in section C i can say its a lepidocyclina (polylepidina sp.) The other ones is not clear for me but its belong in general to lepidocyclina group. This group is very common from oligocene-miocene shallow marine sediments.

Genera Nephrolepidina and Spiroclypeus. please compare internal morphological characters for species demarcation.
