Various methods were used, including discussion, hot chairs, competitions, brainstorming, all of these methods contributed to creating an interactive atmosphere among students and made them love the lesson and compete in asking and answering questions.

It is a great idea to find out the methods used by different university teachers.
However, contexts across the world (Universities- teachers -students and how they understand the term 'lecture') are different.
'Appropriate methods' are likely to be different too.
Which methods we choose to use in any particular class are likely to depend on our (conscious or unconscious) answers to questions including
- What are our 'goals'- what do we hope the SS will learn from /experience during the class?
- Who are we as teachers- what methods do we feel confident and comfortable using?-
- Which of those methods do we think will help SS achieve our goals?
- Who are our SS - are they familiar with the methods that we would like to use? If not what can we do to introduce new methods / prepare them?
- Do our preferred methods need any particular resources?- do we have them? can we get /design them? are we familiar with them?
- Will the methods we would like to use suit the teaching space we will be working in - in terms of layout and space?

There are many teaching methods. I personally prefer the Student-Centered Approach to Learning.
I think you need to enhance students involvement and by using flipping classroom , you could give reading material before the lecture. Therefore, during the lecture time you can work with the students one tasks, cases, and activities that enhance critical thinking and deep learning. After the lecture, there should be more tasks to be completed by students.
By power point I give the theory. Anyhow I pose questions to know they are awake as well as understood the theory and ensure that they are critically thinking regarding the subject in hand. Sometimes I get the audience randomly to read the slides too.After every theory session there are small group sessions applying theory to practice
