I have 2 dams in my watershed, and I have placed 2 reservoir during watershed delineation where the dams are located. I wanted to know is there any other steps I need to take during the whole SWAT process? any steps during calibration and validation and anything I need to change when running SWAT?

To estimate surface runoff using SWAT model with the consideration of dams or reservoirs, one should place the dam at appropriate locations while delineating watershed in SWAT model. Further, before running the model one should take care of the reservoir related parameters like dam capacity, water surface area, dam operation duration, etc. apart from the above variables, ET and percolation from the reservoir are other parameters that need to be calibrated for obtaining reliable results.

You may check the SWAT input data for reservoirs (https://swat.tamu.edu/media/69386/ch29_input_res.pdf ), so you can have an idea about what type of information you need and which parameters ( for example area, volume, spillway rate, sediment concentration) you may need to calibrate.
