Research skills are assumed, publishing tips are useful. Everything start from research idea. It is not important to publish more and more papers (publish or perish practice), but to publish high quality papers. One of the most important skill needed is collaboration. 1. Research Skills Literature Review: The fact that one can carry out comprehensive literature searches to assess the current level of progress in one’s stream of study. Data Collection and Analysis: Skills relating to data collection, storage, and analysis and the ability to use correct tools for the same. Methodological Expertise: Efficient understanding of the specific features of the required research approach and tools in your discipline. 2. Writing and Communication Skills Clear Writing: Problem-solving skills especially the ability to write well and present particular concepts clearly and simply. Technical Writing: Mastery in writing scientific and technical documents such as abstracts, methods, results, and discussion parts. Storytelling: How to tell a story about your findings to make the readers captivated. 3. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Analytical Thinking: A critical analysis of the data and its relevant conclusions Realization of an analysis procedure critical towards data. Problem-Solving: Ability to define research issues and find proper approaches to their solution. 4. Project Management Time Management: A concept related to the first one is time management for research, writing, and other activities. Organization: It has to do mostly with managing different elements and aspects of the research study, based on data and other materials, drafts, references etc. 5.
