When I recorded the absorption spectrum of the free base 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin (THPP) dissolved in NaOH at 2 µM, I noticed that there is two bands Q instead of four.

Is this indication could be considered as a sign of aggregation? what are the signs of porphyrin aggregation?

(I know that aggregation can be monitored as following:

1) Decrease in absorbance of the soret band

2) Evidence of a large soret band

3) Formation of new pics at defined wavelength)
