I would definitely say automatic highlighting of anomalies and sections/periods that significantly deviate from neighboring sections/periods as well as overall means.

Also features that allow people who are not stat-trained to use it - even if at a rudimentary level

The idea of (simple) statistics provided as an artificial series is new, added as https://github.com/nupic-community/nupic.visualizations/issues/81

For now this is a visualization app, meaning the anomaly detection functionality is expected to be done by a 3rd party model, we should consider if there's users interest in such functionality and we should turn from "visualization solution" to a "monitoring tool"(?)

It looks like the users would prefer to have some advanced functionality available out-of-the box, but still keeping the lightweight, multi-platform & browser-based features as our niche advantage from specialized tools, right?

About y-axes: yes, it's unsupported by the framework. Instead we implemented the display of (multiple) values on the right-hand-side of the graph, as you can see on https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wiki/nupic-community/nupic.visualizations/images/nupic_visualizations.png

Does that fit the functionality you mentioned?

"Stack plot" is on the other hand an easy option to support. I just haven't included it because I haven't found any benefit in my examples, but it's definitely worth adding if someone finds it useful. We'll just add a checkbox UI control to switch "normal/stacked plot". https://github.com/nupic-community/nupic.visualizations/issues/84
