Mansar wetland (winter monomictic) is rain fed . Lake was stocked with Cyprinus carpio communis & Cyprinus carpio specularis, after mass mortality of local trash fish, in February 1997. Presently , in winter, selective mortality of adult exotic carps only, weighing about 1 kg, seen during late Dec (2014) to early Feb (2015). Fish mortality was high in the month of January (Generally 5-21 dead fishes seen during different visits). Among these, mortality percentage of Cyprinus carpio communis and Cyprinus carpio specularis was about 90% and 10%, respectively. Anybody who is worked or working on fish mortality (specially Carp) . Please suggest me the links or papers for sorting out the main reasons for this selective fish mortality. I have pics also, if any body wants to see I will send.
