Recently I have visited a rural area of Nepal where frequency of Thunder and Lightning is very high and thus there is a high number of human casualty and property loss for many years. I would like to know any research work about localized effect of Thunder and Lightning in a very small area and any mitigation measures?
Lightning is local event and most of the work is related to local observation. Few zones are doing observation and analysis from the local effect of lightning. TRMM LIS data is more reliable in the absence of any other observation . Yes few research is available on localized effect like urbanization, week days and terrain of hill and many more. As some times thunderstorm depend on local convection.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will go through the article. Also, I am keen to know any practical measures those are effective to mitigate it.
If you are interested in science then use a fast speed video camera or use a fast Antenna ( A circular plate - VLF/LF) sensor network as 3D monetering . You can also setup a high voltage laboratory to check the stepped leader physics and may be a cloud chamber for lightning initiation. Overall it depend on fundding from your colabration because each of the experiment is costly.

All our experts discussed about this problem from scientific angle but there is social aspect also,, In my study I found people have lot of wrong myths about lightning and thar make them vulnerable.we need to see why one part is vulnerable - for this two school of thoughts should work..one geographic conditions and second social problems,,, in my research I found males are more vulnerable ,age group 20-40 is more vulnerable and certain behavioural aspects are making vulnerable ..Therefore in your area you first conduct surveys....there are mitigations as well as preparedness measures also,,,but most important thing is to remind people during thunderstorm period
