Bacterial genome annotation is simple and easy when compared to eukaryotic genome annotation. This is due to the simple structure of prokaryotic gene, lack of introns, lack of multiple promoters and lack of repetitive DNA. The boundaries of prokaryotic genes are the start and stop codons and all prokaryotic genes are sipmle open reading frames.
