I need here the obstacles that phase the SON's providers from applying their security plan at full range scale.
It is even simpler:
-you trade security against freedom
-you trade freedom against security
Finding the balance is very hard: tight security including government watching will lead to no user, total freedom with no one watching could lead to supporting illegal activities unwillingly...
There is no simple way to get the balance right, see hearings in the US on social networks...
Because it is a public network and the restricted security reduces the availability

If you make something so tight, most of the time it losses its beauty. If security in social network (SN) is so high, a great portion of people will not use social medias. It would be better if users are honest, and respectful to others staffs, only then we can enjoy the social networks and we can take the full (good) advantages of SN. However, we are not that lucky and civilized~!
Therefore, we enjoy and apply SN always being in a fear of security threat. Even though, let us use it for the good purpose and for the humanity~!

My personal opinion :
if on the internet network, security in social media can be applied strictly or not and whenever the provider wants.
one way to secure social media is the policy of users in using social media. and that is the best security in using social media
