Thermal energy storage (TES) with phase change materials (PCMs) as one of the particular research topics hasbeen paid attention by many researchers. Although the information about this topic is quantitativelyenormous, there have not been more studies on its applications in automobiles in literature. There is a great
variety of PCMs that can melt and solidify at a wide range of temperatures, making them attractive in a numberof applications in automobiles. This paper reviews previous works on TES systems with solid-liquid phasechange and provides an insight to recent efforts to develop new types of TES systems with PCMs for use in
vehicles. The development of such devices is an extremely urgent need especially for regions with a coldclimate. There are three profound aspects to be considered in this study: PCMs, suitable fields for thermalstorage in vehicles and some major applications.

note that most applications of Phase Change Materials for Thermal Energy Storage in that temperature range are using solid-to-liquid materials. As described in the paper above, the most studied materials in this temperature range are salts and salt-blends. There are a number of other materials in this range, including low-melting temperature metal alloys. Their high density can result in comparable volumetric latent heat storage, while not suffering the same heat spreading penalty of other low-thermal conductivity materials. I've attached a link to one of my papers below covering a similar topic to the Ugurlu paper linked above, which included details on a wide range of materials, including metals, over this temperature span.
if you require liquid-vapor phase change for your application, the majority of studies I've seen refer to the higher potential latent heat of the liquid-vapor transformation, which would indicate increased energy storage density. But pressure management and associated containment, hardware, etc., tends to be prohibitive for such systems, and directly reduce overall energy storage density by a significant amount.
