Temperature is increasing day by day so what is the role of remote sensing and GIS? What are the factors which are increasing temperature?
Mohit if you are observing a continued rise of temperature in Urban Area how is it UHI only, may be there are external climatic factors playing a dominant role.
look at Builtup index, bareness index, vegetation index etc. I have a paper on this in my RG you can have a look.

I am sure that you will find human factors which determine the urban heat island effect. The reason for this is that cities are built by humans. So I guess that you are looking for the physical origin of the urban heat island effect. Is that so? I just want to be sure that I understand your question right.

PS.: Just to give you a clue already. Consider a city in the desert (Las Vegas for example) and one in a tropical forest (like Gbadolite). Which of the two cities will show the largest temperature difference with its environment? And why?
There several human factors to consider in your analysis
1.Population (people) residing in a particular building
2.Energy sources and energy consumption habit(awareness in energy efficiency and technology used in energy consumption).
3.Type of human activities in that location(is it a load?[roads must have a elevated heal readings], hotel? night club? vegetated area? industrial site and type of energy source[coal? electricity? solar? nuclear? charcoal?]
I am sure the heal islands must have positive correlations with these factors i have highlighted. SAME CITY,SAME CLIMATE/WEATHER but DIFFERENT HEAT OBSERVATIONS[heal islands]
