As i am a big data student and find it hard to get topic for dissertation. So is there anyone that can help me regarding to that which kind of topic i can choose as a MSc. Big data student. i"ll be very thankfull
Big data can be looked at emphasising the data aspect, the processing algorithms, or the decisions taken from such analytics.
Here are some big data research areas:
-data ownership
Systems recognising and enforcing ownership of any data records.
This is in the spirit of GDPR, but going beyond. Who owns the data? Ensuring that owners license (or not) access to their data/data sets, to those interested to use these.
Multiple frameworks are possible, comparison and assessment...
Enforcement policy for data ownership right, so that data access is not simply stolen or hijacked. Today is Far West time, with cow boys ignoring enclosures...
-Algorithms
Current algorithms inherit from MapReduce and Hadoop mostly centralised features: gather all Data in one data center, and process everything there.
Alternate possibilities are emerging for Edge Computing.
In medical, it is preferable not to move the data. The medical data stays in hospital, and the algorithm visits the data.
This is hugely promising also beyond medical, in the scenario where data owners or legislation prevent moving data across countries.
Imagine you live in a country c2 where "doing A" is authorised and the information "John does A" gets transfered to another country c1 where "doing A" is illegal. John might be sent to jail when he visits country c1. In this example and many others, it may be an advantage not to move data...
-Decision taken from big data analytics
Sensitivity of decision to evolutions in Datasets?
Errors and uncertainty in decisions vs algorithm and data.
-Economics of data sets
Pricing?
Market Place?
Mechanisms?
