Hello RG users,
I am wondering if there are some new methodologies that have been developed over the past few years. It should be based on solid materials and not fluids. Also, there has to be a software to generate models and it would be perfect if it allows assigning different material strength criterions.

To my opinion, one of the main advances appeared in the field of solid-fluid elastic interactions. But we cannot talk of specific new numerical methods since 2015, there are physical formulations, mathematical models and then numerical models. Often we should see all together.
However, I think that in solid mechanics an advance in numerical methods is mainly in the non-linear phenomena.
It may not be directly related to your question, but an interesting modelling framework that could allow seamless treatment of fluids and solids can be found in this paper
