Colleagues from the field often discuss AI as the upcoming trend in management. Although I personally don't have experience in the field of AI, I have red various articles on the subject and the topic seems very interesting but highly complex. You may check out some of them:
I think first of all it is better to limit your field of study, because management itself consists of broader subjects. therefore, determine the direction and aim of your study and then you can search about new topics. for example in field of human resource management, green HR is new topic.
i think there are number of factors which should be considered in the process of selecting research topic. for example, one topic may be relevant and new in one country, similar topic may be irrelevant or old in another country. added to this your expertise, availability of data, nature of problem etc...
Indeed "Green HR" is the buzz word these days, however a well established scale to measure such phenomenon is still lacking, hence the need of the hour is to work on to the development of scale to measure it.
I'd suggest looking at a combination of the table of contents of key journals over the last 12-24 months (eg. AMJ/AMR/JOM, etc etc and in journals for your particular field - eg HRM/HRMJ in human resources), and the material published by the big management consultants - McKinsey, BCG, Bain, etc. Your question is incredibly broad. Something like this would help narrow it down, and get what is front of mind in the academic and in the practicioner worlds.
