Achievement indicators are used to evaluate research output. The Journal Impact Factor and H-Index are two widely used parameters. What are the other parameters to keep the track record of achievements of research scholars?
@Waleed: Papers are not everything. A lot of research work is published in chapters of books. Another "repository for knowledge" is "human capital" in the form of postgraduates. All such outputs and other attributes need to be taken into account when considering a researcher for promotion or a post.
But be careful about including academic rank in an achievement index, as the index is being used to rank researchers! Even academic post title is a poor proxy.
