Butadiene Extraction Units quite often face the problem of POPCORN POLYMER formation, which cripples the unit from producing / operation.
Pop Corn polymerisation is believed to be caused by Oxygen or Oxygen bearing Compounds.
The question requests for scientifically confirmed (or) practically proven methods to stop popcorn formation in Butadiene Extraction Units and in Butadiene Storage Facilities.

You need to have vapour phase inhibitor in your formulation. It would avoid the polymerisation of butadiene & similar monomers. Search for suitable vapour phase inhibitor.
