It is a known issue in sol-gel processing of complex oxides (e.g. perovskite, and compounds composed of Ba) where the formation of oxocarbonates occurs (Ba2Ti2O5CO3 in BaTiO3-based processing).

Are metal carboxylates or beta-diketonates more effective? Can you indicate the decomposition paths in both examples?
