Additionally, physical infiltration—such as recruiting employees, planting surveillance devices, or stealing documents during facility visits—remains a threat, particularly in industries where proprietary processes or formulations are key assets. Given the high value of innovation in sectors like manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and tech, SMEs in these fields are especially vulnerable to espionage aimed at undermining their market position or replicating their products.
