IPD is a relatively new method of approach compared to traditional methods. There are many uncertainties and/or not enough research has been done on the success factors of the projects that have implemented IPD. There are certain challenges related to it due to which many organizations/ parties are not stepping forward to make this their approach for construction projects. What do you think these challenges are? Though Legal/ contractual, technological and organizational challenges are eminent, are these the only challenges ? if yes which bears the majority of weightage ? If no, what are the other challenges ?

Thank you for the links Senthilvel Vasudevan, while few of the artciles only talk about BIM, few were really helpful.
The major challenges are semantic and contractual. The definition of "integrated" is not clear and the success of the project depends on the level of integration permitted. A 3-way contract where the money only flows one direction is not something that was ever contemplated in English common law upon which most construction contracts are based. Alliance contracting as practiced in Australia is a better solution because the everyone, not just the client, has skin in the game.
