The above quote confirms the thesis that Nikola Tesla was not only a great inventor but also a visionary. Unfortunately, the 3rd technological revolution based on electricity already at the end of the 19th century began to be overtaken by the industrial revolution based on combustion energy. Then, in industry and transport, the main source of energy was the burning of minerals. Despite the fact that at the end of the nineteenth century, electricity inventions enabled the development of applications of electromagnetic technology in various industrial, energy, etc. applications. Precursive solutions also appeared in transport, which later were not developed on a larger scale. For example, initially, Henry Ford's motor vehicle manufacturing company began to produce electric cars. However, due to the lack of developed, necessary infrastructure, e.g. devices for charging batteries, the development of these technologies was suspended and this business concept was replaced with the production of cars with an internal combustion engine. Only about 100 years later, due to the detection and scientific confirmation of the increase in greenhouse gas emissions, the global warming process, which is progressing faster and faster, the negative effects of climate change (semi-arid drought, forest fires, etc.), increasingly severe for humans and the natural environment, appeared stronger pressure to develop energy based on renewable energy sources and electromobility.

I think your observation is correct because if this objective was a priority at a certain time it is going back a little because of the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic which has upset the economic and strategic order of nations. Detminants of the development of electromobility and autonomous car depends on several factors such as the development degree of the country, demographic, social, cultural and behavioral, institutional factors, political and regulatory and ao on. I do agree with your opinion. In the point of my view, developing and penetrating the new technologies requires considering both sides of markets, namely demand and supply side. Unfortunately, providing the required infrastructure and supplying electricity to meet increased demand for electricity must get much more attention.

I think one of the greatest determinants is the battery sustainability issue as stated here by Dariusz Prokopowicz , this is followed by the society acceptability towards electric cars. There are still lots of doubts about durability of electric cars, unfortunately, car manufacturers have not been so helpful in convincing the society.

The other main determinants of the development of autonomous car technology are Artificial Intelligence on the vehicle board for Power Management as well. On the other hand, need to say about the implementation of Augmented Reality, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2X) Communications (5G), IoTs on board of Vehicles, Smart Architecture of Vehicles, Unmanned convoys Technology etc.

There is so much talk in various publications that electromobility should be developed and that electric cars should be cheaper. Unfortunately, the process of developing electromobility is still progressing slowly. The construction of the Izera passenger electric car factory in my country is not expected to start until the end of this year 2021, and mass production is not expected to start until 2024. Despite the fact that citizens learned about the plans to build this factory a few years ago, the process is progressing so slowly. Moreover, many citizens would already buy an electric car if the price of a new electric car were the same as that of a combustion engine car. Electric cars produced by several leading car companies are already available for purchase, but they cost much more than their combustion substitutes. So how is electromobility to develop rapidly if electric vehicles are only available to people with high incomes? There is no system of financial subsidies from the state public finance system, and no subsidies for the purchase of an electric car available to citizens. In addition, there is no developed infrastructure for charging electric cars at various places on roads and highways in built-up and undeveloped areas. It is also necessary to build new power plants and power plants producing electricity in the formula of renewable energy sources, because most of the energy industry is still based on the combustion of fossil fuels and, in addition, built many years ago, i.e. based on outdated technologies. Currently, the government plans and consults socially for the Polish Deal Program, which is to play a key role within the National Plan for Reconstruction of the Economy after the economic recession caused in 2020 by the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic, i.e. accelerating the recovery of the economy from the downturn caused by pandemic. The National Reconstruction Plan was developed by the government in connection with the requirement imposed by the bodies of the European Commission of the EU. The European Union, in order to accelerate the recovery of Europe from the economic recession, has developed a program and prepared the European Reconstruction Fund. Receiving funds under the public aid system constructed in this way, individual Member States develop their National Reconstruction Plans, in which pro-environmental projects involving, inter alia, they are to play one of the key functions in achieving the goals of sustainable development. Therefore, perhaps in the coming years, under the National Reconstruction Plan and under the Polish Deal Program, there will be a significant acceleration in the development of energy based on renewable energy sources, the development of electromobility and other types of pro-environmental economic projects under which sustainable development goals will be implemented and the process of pro-ecological transformation of the economy towards a sustainable, green, zero-emission circular economy will accelerate. I hope so because to date these processes have progressed extremely slowly.
