There are many nations adopted forest farming in fringe ares of forests mainly by tribal people. Its not shifting cultivation but a permanent type of cultivation with trees the forest areas. In India can this type farming can be promoted to support organic production unlike wild collection form forests as NTFPs. What are the legal issues need to be addressed such kind of green initiatives in current forest policy and laws in India. It can be a a tool for livelihood options and poverty alleviation in tribal areas.
