Hi everyone,

I am looking for the disadvantages ( the mechanical ones) that related to use coupling agents in fibre-reinforced composites. As I found, there are two main problems arising from using such materials to enhance the bond strength between the matrix and the fillers (may be fibres). The first one is the degradation of bonding strength over time when the composites were exposed to wet environments. While the second one is that most coupling agents were used  for silica base filler materials, such as glass fibres, to activate the mechanism of coupling. Is that true? Any information will be highly appreciated.  Thank you
