Environmental impacts can be either positive or negative, direct and indirect. For example, the pandemic improved air quality due to reduced traffic and closure of economic sectors, etc.
While the initial shutdowns did lead to a reduction in air pollution this short term gain is leading to longer term problems. There is an increase in 'shopping from home' and the amount of packaging, especially plastic is leading to an increase in the overall damage to our ecosystems
The covid 19 has resulted the positive impact on the environment. So there is less likely the people are affected from the ambient air pollution . At the same time, however, people are more exposed to the indoor air pollution because majority of time people spend their time in the houses.
The presence of coronavirus affects the health and quality of the environment i.e. soil, water and air. It has been proven that coronavirus is airborne and so the safety of the air in places highly affected is hampered. Also, the presence of the virus in stool passed unto the environment is often washed into water bodies which can then be transmitted to humans especially in less developed countries. This foster community transmission
