I have some saline wastewater in glass flasks and Teflon bottles. After the autoclave I take a sample to measure PO4 using the Ascorbic Acid method and NO3 using UV-Screening. Procedures were from 'Standard Methods'. However I were not able to replicate the PO4 measured in glass flasks as compared to Teflon bottles. Same for NO3. Any ideas why this is so? Is it because of the autoclaving? When I added glucose, this led to a different result also.

If anyone has any paper discussing this, I would be really happy to go through them all. Thanks
