While carrying a research in a certain topic, it is encouraging to have a paper published in a relevant journal. It is very prestigious for an author to have a large number of citations for his/her papers. So it is important that the paper should have certain criteria to be well recognized. Of these criteria are: the topic and its importance, methodology of research, the art of writing, way of presenting results, integration of sections....etc.
The main feature of a research paper to be distinguished from my point of view is the issues that it tackles and its impact on solving a severe issue of the society that the author lives in
Originality (a new perspective, new findings, etc.) and meaningfulness (relevance).
The research is distinguished when it deals with a variable that addresses a problem or an important task, as well as following a sound methodology in writing, using appropriate statistical methods to reach the results, and finally developing recommendations that are applicable
Actually, The perfect work will include a good citation, methodology, results, and all of that based on the good research plan.
1. A clear explanation of why the research is important (its impact on society, for example)

3. Salient results
Parallel to originality is the use of a different methodological lens and underused methods, to add underrepresented perspectives.

A good research paper has to be technically sound, due to its novelty, practicality, and adding value in its related research area.
