Scientific research has no value unless there are takers of that research , more so happens in applied sciences, for example agricultural research.  We can develop a much stronger relation between agricultural research and extension , only when , the problems addressed relate to field oriented issues , having direct influence on livelihood of farming community , farm income , farm trade , marketing , secondary agriculture including value addition  etc...

The Government's agriculture wing should maintain a good research team for studying  about high quality seeds, fertilizers etc. Such products should be distributed to farmers in subsidy rate.

Research approaches to innovation in agriculture require comprehensive processes that break the paradigm of role paving: I investigate, you transfer and he  adopts. This situation suggests that the approach to innovation and development needs to be improved. Based on this, it is necessary to ask what to investigate ?, How to investigate? And How to generate changes? Starting from the system of innovation, agriculture must be viewed from the systemic approach, where the producers (family, preferences, history, knowledge, etc.), the environment (biophysical context, market, policies, networks, territory, etc.) converge. ) And the productive unit (agrobiodiversity, built capital, income, bioenergy and production systems).

The research process must be articulated with the producers from the beginning, in such a way as to link a link to offer training, exchange of knowledge, and exchange of experiences. In addition it must be innovative in its methodological implementation and arise in the field of local conditions; In order to generate practical alternatives for the territory.

The process must be participatory with feedback received and given by all parties throughout the process

Mutual respect of mandates and minimal overlap of efforts of the two groups. Scientists should do the research and extensionists should disseminate the results and their interpretation. A small proportion of research money should be allocated to collaborative projects between the two groups.

 Indeed, I don't have an idea but It seems that the answer of Mr.Gonzalo Galileo Rivas Platero is convincing.

Allright ! In my opinion and based on my experience the procedures must be more clear and farmers needs oriented. In other words, farmers needs drive the research protocols to cope with the problems.

The failure of connection in any country absolutley related to this dynamic. If farmers problems were not oriented research attitudes and extension activities. Then the result will be expected to crack this relation.

Agricultural problems solved after down top orientation. Projects direct research needs will not touch rural development and extension system in this case will stopped shortly.

The another portion is the participatory approach between researcher, agent and farmer who must work together and in a collaboration towards a planned objectives.
