I would be very interesting to hear if any of you have book / dissertation suggestions on the theory and practice of integer optimization - with emphasis on different general propose cutting plane approaches. I personally am interested in looking at theoretical as well as practical behaviour of different cutting planes and their closures (possibly in the form of examples ).
A very good, classical textbook and also standard reference is Nemhauser and Wolsey, Integer Combinatorial Optimization, from 1988 (reprint as paperback in 1998). More recently, you might find the PhD thesis of Tobias Achterberg very useful, who describes implementation details of the open-source solver SCIP (both the thesis and the sourcecode can be found at http://www.zib.de).
