I would like to know about energy management methods or strategies which are suitable for smart grid energy management such as fuzzy logic, multi agent system, etc. is there any equivalent or method which could be competitive with these examples?

• Concerning control, in many literature cases, energy management strategies are based on the imposition of DC bus voltage around battery nominal voltage. Two thresholds around battery nominal voltage are set to limit the voltage fluctuations and prevent overloads and excessive discharge of the battery. Optimally bus voltage will be between these two thresholds (see Figure 10), unless, the power management will tend to converge to VBat Nominal voltage. Similarly, two safety limits (V Bat Max and V Bat Min) are defined to protect the system by sources disconnection with switches.
• Concerning rules implementation, many works use artificial intelligence tools for hybrid power system supervision rules development and implementation, like fuzzy logic supervisor or multi-agent systems, for instance. Fuzzy logic is a well-adapted tool to manage complex Hybrid Energy Sources because of the difficulty to obtain or to use precise models of these systems, and the difficulty to predict the behavior of the wind or the sun, load consumptions. However such methods :
1) are complex to implement with slow computing time and need powerful calculators,
2) require additional software tools (e.g. the fuzzy toolbox),
3) are suitable for problems with a multi-objective supervision and when there are many possible scenarios.
