To my knowledge, in poor places no conservation can be done when the surrounding people are hungry, poor and uneducated. So, one should goes to combat those three factors first.

Poaching and hunting of wild animals should be prevented. The reserves and protected areas should be developed carefully. There are many ways you can protect wildlife. Conservation efforts are more effective when there are multiple groups involved in the management of the natural resources as this limits the influence others can have on the conservation.
