I intend to work on different tuning methods of PD controllers for a BLDC Machine. I would like to get the different tuning methods with their tuning algorithms based on the critical gain and critical period of the step response of a system.

If you have transfer function, you can easily implement any one of the methods mentioned above. sisotool in matlab will help you much in the controller design.
