What are the different between the flux and agent in metallurgy process?

Flux is the substance added to to molten metals to bond with impurities that can be readily removed

Agent i s an element (such as calcium) or compound that loses (or "donates") an electron to another chemical species in a redox chemical reaction. Since the reducing agent is losing electrons.
