In a recent meeting with my research advisor (and usually every time), he talks about quality work. Do we have any criteria for judging quality work? What is that? Further, is quality work in research varies in developed and underdeveloped countries? A research laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a lab that doesn't, have the same criteria for quality work?
Quality research is one that accentuates issues faced by the industry and contributes to the body of knowledge. The key is 'research gap' that reflects sparsity in the existing literature relevant to the problem you are finding solution for.

Quality work comes from the effort, time that goes in to the research. The quality work can be measured against the effort you make and the time you spend on your work.
