Suggest me contemporary developmental models that explain about the change in self-regulation (emotional and behavioral regulation) during childhood in the context of parenting, child temperament, and parental characteristics.
For a cognitive point of view (witch could be used for a developpemental) : Hoc, J. M., & Amalberti, R. (2007). Cognitive control dynamics for reaching a satisficing performance in complex dynamic situations. Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making, 1, 22–55.
Self-Determination Theory concerning parental factors, parental dimensions, child adjustment, behavior, etc can be found at selfdeterminationtheory.org
Many contemporary theories build upon classic Vygotskian theory of social/collaborative activity and Wertsch's work, as the context for emergent self-regulation (esp. the role of language as a self-regulatory mechanism). But the more complex and current picture of parenting-child relations is certainly represented by previous commenters here, but I would add the work of Deborah Stipek, Marc Bornstein, Barbara Rogoff, and for a very specific ref: Neitzel, C., & Stright, A. (2003). Mothers' scaffolding of children's problem solving: Establishing a foundation of academic self-regulatory competence. Journal of Family Psychology, 17(1), 147-159.
