I tried to synthesis 2- methylenehexanal using Hexanal, Dimethylamine hydrochloride and 37% formaldehyde. these mixture were stirred 24 hrs under 70 0C condition. Are there any other conditions for this reaction. After the reaction How I separated and purified by the manniach base? Are there any other methods to synthesized the 2- methylenehexanal ? Please anyone explain this.
