Actually, I want to know about the carbon based quantum dots. How they are different from the semiconductor quantum dots? And how to distinguish between Carbon Quantum Dots and Graphene Quantum dots?
This may be a good introduction to Carbon Quantum Dots:

The relevant references are given in the concluding part of the document.
Have a look on the following papers to know about carbon quantum dots
1- https://spie.org/x106674.xml?ArticleID=x106674
2- http://pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/ArticleLanding/2013/TB/c3tb00018d#!divAbstract
Thanks a lot
There are different types of quantum dots like semiconductor quantum dots and carbon based quantum dots. But i have a doubt regarding the definition.
