I am trying to benchmark the environmental performance indicators in tourist destinations. I have developed the indicators by reviewing literature from UNWTO, EPI and other research papers; as per the site-suitability. My indicators are both quantitative as well as qualitative. Please suggest the best method of giving weight-age to these indicators for evaluating the aggregated score of different environmental components.

There are International Standards but I think you should also focus on the Regional Specific Standards which will suit more to your case study than the generalized ones. If there are no regional benchmarks then you can borrow from the International ones but then you have to filter them out to fit your Regional or Country

I have selected my indicators on the basis of some themes/components (e.g. environmental services, legislation measures etc.), after reviewing both the national and international standards. A major concern now is a common scoring method for them. These indicators are qualitative (including 'yes/no' and 'likert scale' type), and quantitative (including data figures and percentages). I have read many papers, but cannot figure out a single effective approach. Please suggest a scoring/evaluation method which can be effectively used on both type of data.
