As university/college faculty and professionals in the industry, we are advised (and even required) to continue professional development. What are the best strategies for ongoing professional development in teaching and research in your field?
2. Keep abreast of the most recent developments in your field via reading the latest journals
3. Communicate with professionals in your field by sending them early pre-prints or requesting such from them.
4. Be actively involved with the community making them aware of your own work, your department's and your university's so that good corporate citizenship is maintained.
Continuing education, networking, community-service, ongoing research, management and leadership learning are all effective and helpful strategies for professional development.
Volunteer to assist a fellow colleague who has an objective of getting a manuscript published or mentor someone who is just starting to do a research paper for the first time.
