Certainly, the research question posed by Prof. Aleš Kralj is very important, as a faster clinical testing can tremendously help countries to save human lives with immediate positive outcomes. Surprisingly, we also come across effectiveness of several treatment procedures (curative interventions) being developed and subsequently reported by scientists. Here I have a question that: 'why these treatment procedures (like rapid tests, vaccinations, etc) do not get immediate approval for a commercial propagation and wider adoption?'

The Covid-19 as it emerged and spread worldover, opens an array of potential researchable issues from social science perspectives, as far as I understand it. First of all, when the Covid-19 started spreading with few (but still rising) number of casualties, we researchers 'concluded' that population above 60 years are more prone to death due to loss of immunity, etc. But, now we are more convinced that Covid-19 can cause death of population of all ages. In this backdrop, we might need a detailed country-wise analysis of the 'age factor induced human casualties due to Covid-19'. Next, the other important potential research areas can relate with gender dimensions; the much discussed economy-wide (globally and locally) impacts [both sort-term and long-term], such as impacts on growth, trade, employment, agricultural and industrial production systems, performance of services sector; impacts on poverty and food security; international and inter-regional migrations, etc. Third, researches may also focus on the cross-country studies exploring the socio-cultural, psychological as well as behavioural dimensions of the impacts caused by Covid-19. Last, "The larger issue of our current approach (business as usual approach being followed over the past one century or so) towards growth and development with its uncompromising implications on natural resources and the environment" itself opens up a massive research agenda before the academic community in the world. Of course, this list is only an indicative one and path-breaking research ideas are most welcome!!!

The way economically weaker section of Indians walked barefoot through hundreds of miles to reach to home safety, without revolting against the sudden act of cruelty imposed on them, is evocative of their strong resilience to the crisis. On the contrary, US, witnessed a strong revolt of the rich class against the lockdown, despite severe covid outbreak.

“A Stimulus or Stabilization Package is a panacea to Covid-19 in order to build a more resilient society.“ Comment on the veracity of the above statement in light of North-South jurisdictions and the impact on the various sectors of society, in particular the health, education, finance and tourism.

The best research questions in social sciences are those related to family patterns of infection, to discover if there is correlation of COVID-19 infection with the maternal line of mitochondrial DNA heritage (see biological explanation below).

For instance, in families with a couple and one child, if the mother and the child are infected, but the father is not, then there is positive correlation. If the father is infected, but the mother and the child are not, there is also positive correlation.

However, if the mother is infected and the child is not, ot vice-versa, there is negative correlation.

There are indicators that the COVID-19 action occurs mainly in the mitochondria, which has an evolutionary origin due to endosymbiosis (when the eukaryotic cell incorporates bacteria that help it perform certain functions). Mitochondrial DNA is exclusively maternal in origin. Some factors that affect the mitochondria, such as nicotine and metformin, may predispose to the action of the virus. All this indicates that it is necessary to research the affinity of the virus with certain segments of the mitochondrial DNA, to verify if there is a segment present in the mitochondrial DNA of susceptible people, which is not found in the DNA of people not susceptible to the disease

I think it would be important to deepen how geographical elements are involved in the diffusion of Covid-19, through a rigorous rebuilding of the diffusion of the virus and its concentration in certain specific geographic area, in order to consider which factors enhanced or inihibited the creation of "pathogene cluster".

I'm very interested in the manifestation of collective responsibility for the welfare of most vulnerable in the Covid-19 era. How the concept has been embraced and accepted, by populations and the variations and strains over time and internationally.

Corona virus did not discriminate as it went beyond race, color, gender, financial condition, religious faith, age group, and nations. Spirituality is non-discriminatory too. Manifesting an antidote against enemies, it integrates our power of mind, body and heart. Springing healing solution, spirituality restores health and hope, and develops resilience and immune system in us. The more spiritual we are, the more resilient and robust we become in neutralizing our enemies. We need to re-imagine and reinvigorate our ties with spirituality to counter the growing menace of this virus. While scientific progress has been made against the virus, we still evade spiritual efforts to unravel its fear and pin it down. Let’s here not confuse spirituality with a religious belief. The outcomes of responses of religious beliefs to the virus have exposed the difference between the two across the world. Kenneth Pargament, who spent life time doing research on spirituality and health, says, “my more metaphorical definition of spirituality is that it is a way of seeing or perceiving the world, being able to see or perceive the world in a deeper way, to see that there is more to reality than what meets the eye, there is a deeper dimension. And people who have that capacity to see more deeply, it seems to have a lot of benefits for happiness, and health, and well-being.” “If we are to defeat this epidemic, we need more, not less, trust and cooperation…If this epidemic results in grater disunity and mistrust among humans, it will be the virus’s greatest victory” writes Yuval Noah Harari, a history lecturer at Jerusalem. The virus makes the need for a positive psychological response more urgent and to explore ways to strengthen our sense of spirituality.
