Sometimes it is useful to recycle nanoparticles that are deposited on a surface. Ultrasounds could be useful for that purpose (avoiding chemical products).
Dear Yves ,
You can use
a power density : 20 W/cm2
a frequency : 1.67 MHz
a cleaning time : 5 min
As a Solvent , you can use a dissolved gas ( oxygen, in a liquid ( water)
This can be improved by using pulsed acoustic fields
Good luck
Eric
Dear Eric,
many thanks for your valuable answer!
Any suggestion for a paper on the subject?
Best regards,
Yves.
This has to be optimised by varying the parameters:
Generally, in the laboratories ultrasound in the frequencies of 20 to 100 kHz commonly used for physical and chemical transformations.
You can use this but operating at a lower amplitude and monitoring the removal with time.
Sometimes when you apply high intensity (W/Cm2) it may remove the particles from the surface, but it may also damage the surface.
What nanoparticles we are talking about?
Dear Dimitar,
The question was intended to be general.
I suspect that the efficiency in removing the nanoparticles will depend also on the type of nanoparticles and chemical composition of surface.
Any contribution, even for specific nanoparticles or surface will be welcome.
I need to do some experiment with it in liquid form.
