For effective teaching of mathematics, one need to use pictures and real samples for better and faster understanding at school level. Practice is very important part of learning of maths.Teacher need to guide students through practice sessions.

Proper emphasis must be on basic concepts and shortcuts should be practiced well.

"The ultimate goals of mathematics instruction are students understanding the material presented, applying the skills, and recalling the concepts in the future. There's little benefit in students recalling a formula or procedure to prepare for an assessment tomorrow only to forget the core concept by next week. It's imperative for teachers to focus on making sure that the students understand the material and not just memorize the procedures.

Here are six ways to teach for understanding in the mathematics classroom:

1. Create an effective class opener.

2. Introduce topics using multiple representations.

3. Solve the problems many ways.

4. Show the application.

5. Have students communicate their reasoning.

6. Finish class with a summary.

You can use this time to accomplish three very important things:

· A quick formative assessment to determine how much was learned, such as students self-rating their comfort with the concept on a 1-5 scale

· Reviewing the objective for the class period and brief discussion as to where the lesson will go next time

· Previewing the homework together to avoid any confusion"

The best way to learn mathematics in my opinion is to use tools such as illustrations and shapes and graphics and try to represent the calculations in the primary stages, as training and exercises and discussion between the student and professor continuously. In addition to the basic factor is the teaching method of the teacher and his level of scientific and the use of thrill and entertainment from time to time.

The question is formulated very naively, because mathematics is only a universal language, not science. In my understanding, you can not learn math until your own understanding comes. Mathematics is not a technology that can be taken and studied, mathematics is a way of formal thinking. To understand mathematics, you need to solve many examples and tasks, ranging from the most elementary tasks to very difficult tasks. And the more these examples and tasks will be solved, the earlier will come the understanding of mathematics like the main tool for formal thinking. Understanding mathematics is a very long and difficult process of forming formal thinking, just as for a young musician you need to work long and hard to play well on any musical instrument. In short, understanding mathematics is a very hard and persistent daily work on your own brain, and only very patient people can be succeed. Yes, of course good teachers can speed up the process for understanding mathematics, but without own personal hard work it is impossible to understand the mathematics really and this should be well understood by all young students. Those people who will show patience, they will be happy in the future.

I am a clinical doctor and medical researcher I have also dedicated myself to teaching in medicine

I have not been a professor of mathematics, but a very related discipline, Biostatistics and Statistics Applied to Clinical and Educational Research.

I consider myself an expert in teaching Biostatistics, and the best way to learn the contents and methods of the subject are; Among some others:

• Carry out a research project as a Thesis to obtain a degree in medicine or a postgraduate degree in medical specialties. Also in masters and doctorates in medical sciences.
• Apply the project or carry out the thesis and obtain the results following the scientific method and the appropriate instruments for this purpose in obtaining information and testing hypothesis; describe and analyze the results with the statistical method appropriate to the type of variables.
• Make inferences and deductions from the statistical results already prepared and expressed in summary measures, in order to reach the final part of the hypothesis test; that is, accept or reject Null Hypothesis (H0). On the other hand, accept or reject the Alternative Hypothesis (H1).

I think if the teacher starts telling a story about mathematics while immersing in his course through history. I think the course will be more profitable.

Giving more examples with proper explanations.

Giving a plenty of exercises to be given.

Khan Academy videos and many other videos on you tube that can built and cement concepts and provide the exercises at the end is helpful in any age. personal example!
