Stigma seems to be a ocular topic in RG, however, I am having trouble finding the right keywords in order to locate research on stigma as it relates to individuals who are both consumers and providers of mental health.
Excuse the ignorance of your acronym, RG? However, I wonder if Bloom and Farragher's work would assist in situating your search? Destroying and Restoring Sanctuary are their seminal texts. All the best with it.
try these names Patrick Corrigan (from the US), Graham Thorton (from the UK), Winnie Mak (non-Western population); also the work published by New Zealand Mental Health Commission
indeed, Mary's earlier work with the Commission did look at professionals' stigma and discrimination against people with mental illness, also capturing the service users' voice powerfully
The key words "Mental health care" AND "internalized stigma" give the following:
A Model of Internalized Stigma and Its Effects on People With Mental Illness. Amy L. Drapalski, Ph.D.; Alicia Lucksted, Ph.D.; Paul B. Perrin, Ph.D.; Jennifer M. Aakre, Ph.D.; Clayton H. Brown, Ph.D.; Bruce R. DeForge, Ph.D.; Jennifer E. Boyd, Ph.D. Psychiatric Services, VOL. 64, No. 3
Internalized stigma, discrimination, and depression among men and women living with HIV/AIDS in Cape Town, South Africa
Leickness C. Simbayia, Seth Kalichmanb, Anna Strebela,
Allanise Cloetea, Nomvo Hendaa, Ayanda Mqeketoa. Social Science & Medicine

Study of understanding the internalized stigma of schizophrenia in psychiatric nurses in Japan. Hanzawa S, Nosaki A, Yatabe K, Nagai Y, Tanaka G, Nakane H, Nakane Y. Psychiatry Clin Neurosci. 2012 Mar;66(2):113-20.
I think you are talking about 'courtesy stigma' or 'stigma by association'. So I would try those as search terms. Which is a bit different from self-stigma. For self-stigma I think the Corrigan and Rao article is a good clear account: CanJPsychiatry 2012:57(8):464^69.
Elyn Saks, Ed Knight and I identified ten doctoral level mental health professionals who have written about being diagnosed with schizophrenia. Many of these have written about their experiences with stigma. The reference is:
