I'm starting a new project for my postdoc and I'll be working on Safflower, Carthamus tinctorius. So do you have any tips or advices to have the best seeds production yield?
The only thing I know is the growth conditions 16h light (28°C) and 8h dark (22°C).
But is it better to keep a moist or dry soil or if when I sow the seed, do I have to put it on or inside the soil, etc? I don't know anything on it, I've been working only on A. thaliana.

For any seeds it is always better to put the seeds slightly inside the soil and keeping the soil slightly moist is healthier for plants. In case of growing in pots, the pot soil should be watered nicely two-three days before sowing the seeds.
safflower are arid plants so less water and 25 to 35 °C sufficient for cultivate.look this experiment

The ideal growing requirements for safflower are well-drainedsoils with good water retention, but safflower isn't picky and willgrow in coarse soil with inadequate irrigation or rain. It doesn't like wet feet, however. Safflower is seeded in early to late spring.
