Teaching not only refers to sharing knowledge, but also to manage the classroom effectively. In your opinion, what are the best classroom management techniques?
Be clear in what you expect, Be consistent, Be positive, Engage students and build relationships, Address issues immediately, Encourage students and stay organized.
Thank you all for your valuable insights. Classroom management is part of pedagogical leadership, and requires organizational skills, as well as willingness to adapt, to grow professionally, and to turn challenges into opportunities. I agree that each classroom is different, especially given the psychological, educational, linguistic, and socio-cultural diversity of students. Differentiated instruction and individual approach can play a crucial role in maintaining students' academic resilience, and intellectual flexibility. Classroom management also depends on the mode of teaching: online and in-person teaching, while sharing some similarities, are somewhat different in nature, requiring adaptive methodologies, innovative strategies, and pedagogical understanding.
Know yourself first as a teacher, to do this, ask the question: How do I teach?
Know your students, what learning styles do they have?
Transmit knowledge adapting it to the different learning styles that we can find in the classroom and developing critical thinking, creativity, the use of digital tools and communication.
To do this, I use the REAPSES Method (Learning Styles Corners for Primary, Secondary and Higher University and non-university studies) (Castellanos, 2020).
Thank you for your response. I agree, the variety of pedagogical methods can play an important role in managing the classroom, enhancing the efficiency of teaching.
