It's a pity Springer published no translations or updated editions of my favorite anatomy book ... of 1954 ;)

The 3rd edition of Hermann Braus and Curt Elze's "Anatomie des Menschen" (human anatomy) is still unmatched, especially its first volume on the motor apparatus.

P.S. Not of Springer, no less well illustrated: Frank H. Netter's "The Ciba collection of Frank H. Netter." It's pictures are often copied for presentations.
